Edith VanderKloot  BFA, MPA


Edith VanderKloot has been involved in various art mediums over the years and has come from a professional photography career of some 20 years.

Edith graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, cum laude,  in 1985 from the University of Ottawa and specialized in contemporary & creative photography.  She moved from Ottawa to Calgary in 1996 where she continued her photography profession and studied art.

She obtained her Master of the Photographic Arts (MPA) from the Professional Photographers of Canada and has won several awards in photography fine arts.


Having taken many courses and workshops in the traditional arts as well as in the digital fine arts, Edith now creates digital painted portraits as interpretations of traditional paintings.

Always interested in experimenting  with different mediums and  discovering and transforming details and textures in nature, Edith now works with slate tile, mixed media and fine art photography.


Edith has participated in numerous Art Gallery Shows in Ottawa and Alberta , having just participated in the “Art of the Earth” in Japser Yellowhead Museum in March 2010. In June, she will be part  of the Juried Show in Leighton Art Centre, her third year of taking part in this event. Two of her photographic images are in the National Archives of Ottawa and a photographic image was purchased by the Art Bank of Canada. Presently, Edith is a member of  Leighton Art Centre, Okotoks Art Gallery, Professional Photographer of Canada.
